Professor Damien Gruson is Head of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc in Brussels. He is also Professor at UCLouvain, where he is affiliated with the research unit in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition.

He currently serves as President-Elect of the European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM) and as Chair of the Division on Emerging Technologies of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC). His leadership focuses on innovation in laboratory medicine, including point-of-care testing, digital health, artificial intelligence, and preventive diagnostics.

Professor Gruson is a board member of the Royal Belgian Society of Laboratory Medicine and of the Belgian Thyroid Club. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Association, and the ADLM Academy.
