Oliver Blank

Dr Oliver Blank is Head of ZVEI Global Affairs and Managing Director of ZVEI European Office Brussels. Dr Oliver Blank has been Head of European + China Affairs and Managing Director of the ZVEI European Office in Brussels for many years. He is responsible for the coordination of all European affairs and China activities of the ZVEI across all topics and sectors. Since 1 May 2022, he has also headed the new ZVEI Global Affairs division and coordinates the association's political work worldwide. He is involved in numerous European associations and is a member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). In addition to his ZVEI functions, Dr Blank was Secretary General of the European Energy Technology Association T&D Europe from 2010 to 2016. Dr Blank studied political science at Bowling Green State University in the USA and at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, where he obtained his doctorate in 1996 with a thesis on "Relations between the People's Republic of China and the USA under US President George Bush 1989-1992". Dr Blank was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1968 - he has two grown-up children, both of whom are studying.
