As a founding partner at Axon Lawyers in the Netherlands, Erik advises companies, governments, and EU institutions on the legal and regulatory frameworks that shape medical technology, digital health, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostics. His expertise spans medical devices (MDR), in vitro diagnostics (IVDR), the AI Act, GDPR, REACH, biocides and more.
With over 27 years of experience and a keen understanding of the legal complexities facing the health technology sector, Erik is recognised for transforming dense regulations into strategic insights. He regularly contributes to EU law-making through expert committees and frequently speaks at leading international conferences.
Erik is also the author of The Enriched MDR and IVDR, and the widely followed blog medicaldeviceslegal.com, where he breaks down regulatory issues with clarity and practicality.
