Mikko Lintu
Mikko Lintu is an emergency medicine physician based in Turku, Finland, where he works in the emergency department. He also serves as a clinical teacher at the University of Turku, teaching medical students in emergency medicine.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive international experience working as a physician in the Philippines, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, the West Bank and Gaza. His roles have included clinical research, military medicine and humanitarian medical work in a variety of challenging settings.
His professional experience combines frontline emergency medicine, medical education and international humanitarian work.

Using photographs and real-life examples from conflict zones and humanitarian settings, this lecture explores how teams function when resources are limited and circumstances are unpredictable. I will share how teamwork and mutual support have helped me cope with challenging situations. Examples will include laboratory services, walking blood banks and simple diagnostic pathways when normal systems are disrupted.
