Unlike traditional “static” methods, the Bayesian Approach revolutionizes QC Management by dynamically updating probabilities with prior knowledge and real-time data, integrating manufacturer targets, lab performance, and historical trends. Werfen leads the way as the first to embed Bayesian QC into its Intelligent Management System under the name of ASTELIA, integrating predictive control tools (the “Bayesian Triplet”) within HemoHub. This innovation enhances the detection of outliers, mean shifts, and variance drifts, reducing false alarms and unnecessary interventions. The automated charts support risk management and trend analysis, enabling real-time monitoring, streamlined lot changes, and easy instrument comparisons. Case studies confirm improved reliability, faster interventions, and reduced manual workload—driving efficiency, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring ISO 15189:2022 compliance. Notably, in 2024 this approach also earned the prestigious Brumbaugh Award for Bourazas, Sobas, and Tsiamyrtzis, recognizing its significant contribution to industrial Quality Control applications.
